How it Works

Take your favorite photo and turn it into canvas art? Sounds simple. But what do we mean exactly? If you are anything like the Canvas Crib family, you have a whole bunch of great pictures stored on your computer that have only been given the satisfaction of making an appearance on your desktop wallpaper. Not anymore…send us that great picture and let us get started on giving that great shot the props it deserves. Is the perfect picture just sitting in an old shoebox rather than on the computer? No worries, Canvas Crib will accept either digital or traditional photographs to create your project.

Here’s how it all works

So first off what do we mean by YOUR PHOTO…exactly that…send us your favorite photo or a photo that has a special meaning to you or a loved one and we will turn it into a beautiful hand stretched canvas that is ready for you to hang on your wall…heck, we will even throw in the patented Beehive Hangars to make mounting your work of art a quick and painless process. In only a few days we will ship to you, or directly to your loved one, a masterpiece that can be enjoyed for many years to come… at least 100 years to be exact because our canvases are brushed with a specially designed UV Coating that under normal conditions can become a family heirloom.

Getting your picture(s) to us.

Digital

If you are sending us a digital photo you can use our upload system found in the order screen to easily add your photo to your order. The system will do a quick scan of your photo to ensure compatibility of the photo and to make sure it will look great.

The guideline that we recommend is that your photo should be at least 3MB and no larger than 10MB. If your file is over 10MB you can still send us your photo by contacting us by phone or e-mail. Most traditional digital cameras that have been on the market for the past few years are all capable of shooting a 3MB picture. For best results make sure that your camera’s quality setting is at it’s highest before shooting that perfect picture.

Traditional Print

If you would like to send us a traditional print we make this a simple process as well. In the order form page simply check the Traditional Photo option rather than uploading a photo. Once your order is submitted we will send you a prepaid mailer with the envelope and mailing instructions to send us your photo. The mailer should get to you within two business days. Just send your photo back to us at no charge to you and we will get started on your canvas.

The most common question we get when dealing with traditional prints is “Will we get it back?” Of course you will. We are committed and obsessed with taking care of your photo. That being said we have to agree that anything can happen so please DO NOT send us an irreplaceable photo. If your photo is a one of a kind please make a copy first. Most Staples (Canada) or Kinkos (US) outlets can make a digital copy of your photo and put it on a disk. In which case you can then send it to us in a digital format. Please make sure that your picture is scanned at a MINIMUM 300DPI to ensure high quality.

Once We Have Your Photo

As soon as we receive your photo we will get started on creating your masterpiece. One of our digital artists will examine your photo and perform all necessary and desired touch ups. Your touch up options can be found on the order form.

Then your canvas is sent to print. We allow for dry time and then we apply the Special UV Coating that ensures your canvas will last for a lifetime.

Once the coating has been applied your canvas is hand stretched over high quality solid wood stretcher bars.

The final step is to make sure that your canvas will be shipped to you with the utmost care. Each canvas is double wrapped with foam and sandwiched with cardboard then wrapped in a second cardboard shell. This ensures that your canvas will arrive in great shape. Just to make sure, we insure each canvas that we send out with $100 shipping insurance.

Now you have a beautiful canvas for all to see and enjoy. The only question now ends up being…what picture should I send to Canvas Crib next.

Let’s get started on creating your canvas from Canvas Crib.
